Support, Regulation & Growth (SRG-C™)
Part of the DeGrio Integrated Learning Framework (DILF)
Support, Regulation & Growth — SRG-C™ — is DeGrio Global Learning Academy’s school-based, non-clinical approach to helping every learner build the conditions that make growth possible: safety, belonging, confidence, and readiness to engage. SRG-C™ is not a separate program or a pull-out service. It is woven into daily instruction, relationships, and routines across every DGLA classroom and program.
Why SRG-C™ Matters
Learning happens best when students feel safe, supported, and seen. Before a student can fully engage with rigorous academics or creative work, they need a foundation of stability, trust, and self-regulation. SRG-C™ exists to build and protect that foundation — not as an add-on to academics, but as a condition for it. This is why SRG-C™ sits alongside Foundational Academics and the Creative Lab Media Studio as one of the core pillars of the DeGrio Integrated Learning Framework (DILF).
How SRG-C™ Shows Up Every Day
At DGLA, SRG-C™ is practiced through:
- Predictable routines and structures that help students feel secure
- Reflective, emotion-aware language used by educators throughout the day
- Restorative conversations that repair relationships and reinforce accountability
- Expressive practices — storytelling, journaling, movement, and art — that give students healthy ways to process and communicate
- Character and positive-behavior instruction embedded in daily classroom life
These practices are designed and delivered by DGLA’s educators as part of everyday teaching — not as therapy, counseling, or clinical intervention.
A Tiered, Whole-Community Approach
SRG-C™ is organized in tiers, similar to the multi-tiered support systems used in schools nationally:
- Universal support (Tier 1): every classroom, every student, every day — regulation practices, reflective routines, and relationship-building woven into daily instruction.
- Targeted support (Tier 2): small-group support for students who benefit from additional practice with regulation, executive functioning, or social communication, developed in collaboration with families.
- Individualized support (Tier 3): focused, educational support for students with more significant needs, developed by DGLA’s staff in ongoing partnership with families.
At every tier, SRG-C™ remains educational — not clinical — in nature.
What SRG-C™ Is — and What It Isn’t
SRG-C™ is a school-based educational framework, not a substitute for professional mental health care. DGLA staff do not diagnose, treat, or provide therapy. When a student’s needs go beyond what a school-based framework can appropriately support, DGLA refers families to licensed professionals in the community. SRG-C™ and DGLA’s educators work alongside — never in place of — the medical, therapeutic, and clinical professionals who support a family.
SRG-C™ and Staff Development
Every DGLA educator, from classroom teachers to instructional support staff, receives training in SRG-C™ as part of their onboarding and ongoing professional development. This helps ensure that SRG-C™ is practiced consistently, safely, and appropriately across every DGLA classroom and program — not dependent on any one individual’s background.
SRG-C™ Within the DeGrio Integrated Learning Framework
SRG-C™ is one of four connected pillars that make up DILF, alongside Foundational Academics and Mastery, the Creative Lab Media Studio, and Inquiry, Collaboration, and Applied Mastery. Together, these pillars reflect DGLA’s belief that academic learning, wellness, and creativity are not separate tracks — they grow together. Learn more about DILF on our About page, or visit our Academics page for how SRG-C™ connects to daily instruction.
